PETROLIMEX LAUNCHES SUSTAINABLE AVIATION FUEL (SAF) TO MARK 70 YEARS OF ESTABLISHMENT

On August 15, 2025, at Nha Be Petroleum Terminal, Petrolimex Aviation officially introduced its Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and signed cooperation agreements with Vietjet and Associated Energy Group, LLC (AEG Fuels) for the supply of SAF.

Pioneering SAF Production and Supply in Vietnam

SAF is an aviation fuel produced from renewable resources, capable of reducing CO₂ emissions by up to 80% compared to conventional jet fuel. It is considered a key solution for the global aviation industry to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2050.

Petrolimex is the first enterprise in Vietnam to import synthetic blending components (SBC) from bio-based/renewable sources and master the blending process according to stringent international standards such as EI 1533, ASTM D7566, DEF STAN 91-091, and Vietnam Standard TCVN 14414:2025. The first batches of SAF have been successfully delivered for commercial flights nationwide. Petrolimex Aviation’s supply system is certified under ISCC EU and ISCC CORSIA, internationally recognized sustainability and carbon reduction standards.
