Crude fish oil, extracted from fish by-products, can provide a large, low-cost, and stable feedstock for biodiesel production while simultaneously reducing pollutant emissions. The calorific value of fish oil is comparable to that of petroleum.
Applications:
-
Production of biodiesel as a substitute for fossil diesel. Biodiesel is blended with diesel (B5, B10, B20) for use in trucks, buses, and ships.
-
Biofuel for tractors, water pumps, and agricultural dryers.
-
Used as boiler fuel, replacing traditional fuel oil (FO).
-
Combustion fuel for industrial furnaces, generating steam to drive power turbines.
